Each month we want to a celebrate and acknowledge the community spirited people within our area. We have introduced “Good Local of the month” where locals can nominate people who are always thinking of others but seldom themselves or continues to do outstanding work within the community.

Kerri Bernsten was our first “Local of the Month” winner and here is why:

Kerri was nominated by Robyn and here is what she had to say:

Hi There, I would like to nominate Kerri Bernsten from Pyes Pa for the Good Local person of the month. Kerri has 5 kids but she has been a longtime foster carer for the SPCA as well, looking after young or injured animals until they are ready to find new homes. She is involved in Homeless under the stars here in Tauranga as well as working for Plunket educating parents in their car seat programme. She is a Netball coach/ manager at Aquinas College and was always put up her hand to help out when she was needed as a parent at Pyes Pa School.

Kerri won dinner for two at Good Local as a small ‘thanks’ for the amazing work she does year-round within the community.
